Many seo experts and webmasters uses different tools to search keywords and keypharases and their number of searches on each search engine, monthly volume and cpc estimated rate.

Google has recently launched its own system for doing a keyword research with many kool features just like in other third party systems but ofcourse now its google it self telling you i dont think there can be any other more reliable source telling you number of searches for specific keyword on google than google. Google also uses a word "approx" which can cause a little caution in our minds but on the Inside AdWords blog, however, Trevor Claiborne states, "These approximate numbers are intended to provide better insight into keywords' monthly and average search volumes than previously provided by the tool."
